ELMA attends Music Moves Europe meeting in Brussels
ELMA partners attends the Music Moves Europe meeting organized by the EU Commission on February 14th in Brussels.
Music Moves Europe is a fundamental moment for the definition of a renewed policy for the whole music sector, and ELMA partners will participate with a contribution that moves from the ELMA Initiative findings to drive a longer term path with the EC and the different organizations involved in its networking activities, in a common and shared view and strategy.
ELMA Initiative: a common voice to support EC and Music, to Move Europe!
In January 2015, the European Live Music Association (ELMA) launched a European initiative to promote the development of a European network of associations and enterprises representing the live music events producers and organizers at European level.
Since then, ELMA partners have attended annually ILMC, Medimex, Midem, Linecheck, Nouvelle Prague, Reeperbahn and other key international music conferences and showcases, to meet with different institutions and organizations involved in the process, and start a debate on the main challenges that European Live music sector professionals face in their daily work.
Stepping on the Music Moves Europe momentum (Brussels, February 14th, 2018), ELMA Initiative is the first occasion for different but complementary partners collaborating with the Association, to formally address the EU, in order to enhance the debate on the main challenges of the Live music sector professionals, and the common needs of event promoters and producers for the internationalization of their careers.
The main objective of the ELMA Initiative has been to assess a white paper draft on issues of the Live Music Sector, to be addressed to the EU institutions.
More than 30 partners representing major national Associations, Foundations, Organizations and Companies from 13 EU member and candidate countries have participated to the initiative and delivered a first strategic document to be considered a starting point for further activities development.
A very promising indicator for future joint activities, and a vibrant message to the commission!
